Stan Geudens is selling a fourteen-course theorbo by Jaume Bosser, built in 1987.
This is a beautiful and rare theorbo by the Catalan luthier Jaume Bosser. The instrument has a particularly clear and full sound, which makes it ideal for continuo playing in both smaller and bigger ensembles.
The soundboard carries three finely carved rosettes arranged in a trefoil, over a ribbed bowl in light-coloured wood with dark fillets between the ribs. The neck has an ebony fingerboard with tied gut frets and the characteristic theorbo double pegbox, with the diapasons running to the extended upper pegbox. A soft case by Bag Luthiers is included.
