The Italian Savarez family moved to France in 1770, where they founded the company, which is known worldwide nowadays, and whose original activity was based on gut and gimped strings.
From 1880, its catalog expands with the use of new materials such as steel, bronze and brass. In 1930 the company began with the production of nylon strings, applying new calibration and control techniques to improve accuracy.
The Savarez BRH rectified and oiled plain gut strings are at the origin of the company that has two centuries and half experience in this field..
They embody the combination of traditional processes and modern technologies, which guarantees their qualities.
The methods of polishing improved as technical progress allowed.
Formerly polished manually, the strings were then polished to a precision of 0,05 mm by using grinding machines.
Today, Savarez BRH gut strings are rectified on “centerless” machines with a precision of more or less 0,005 mm.
Charactertisics obtained thanks to the polishing process:
Suited sonority sought for the early music, an increased projection of sound and an harmonic spectrum that fits the range of the traditional historical instruments.
A perfect intonation
A large choice of diameters, allowing to provide the best suitable strings according to the instrument tuning, the reference pitch and the various instrument sizes.
