Juanjo Monroy is offering this guitar for sale. It was acquired by Carlos González at the 1997 Étude Trajan auction in Paris.

The guitar has ebony ribs and a rounded back, decorated with ivory or bone purfling.

The neck is veneered with ebony strips and matching ivory or bone purfling.

The soundboard is made of a resinous wood (possibly pine or fir) and features a border of mother-of-pearl and ebony.

The bridge is ebony, with floral ornaments made from the same wood.

The peghead is maple and ebony, both faces veneered with those same materials.

The soundhole has an oval shape, unusual for this type of instrument, and is bordered with ebony and mother-of-pearl.

The rosette is made up of several layers of gilded parchment. The design is so dense that it obscures any possible label inside.

The fingerboard is ebony, with a lateral border of ebony and mother-of-pearl.

The instrument has undergone several restorations, none of which have altered its original structure.

No mark, engraving, or label has been found to identify its maker or country of origin. At the auction, it was attributed to Italy, though it could just as easily be German or French, and probably dates from the late 18th century.
