Ignacio Pérez-Victoria is selling an ‘EMS 8 course renaissance lute special’ (string length: 595 mm with standard renaissance tuning in G) bought 10 years ago at ‘The Early Music Shop’ (UK).
The lute body has 13 ribs made from rosewood and separated by contrasting white inlay. It has a sitka spruce soundboard, rosewood neck, pegbox and fingerboard.
The lute is supplied with a convenient and very protective carrying hard case. It comes with original EMS strings but one which got broken and has been replaced with an equivalent string from La Bella. It has nylon frets.
The lute is aesthetically very attractive and it is a very appropriate student instrument for beginners, having been traditionally recommended by the lute society of the UK.
Sound quality is very decent. You can check the original Early Music Shop sound sample here https://drive.google.com/file/d/1oPxM0IiCHy8TDc6YPdPhENbhYq3NoJ6M/view?usp=sharing and you can also get an idea of the sound quality in these YouTube videos played by an amateur player.
This lute model (which I bought for £621.75) has been discontinued and is now replaced at the EMS by a higher-grade semi-professional 8-course lute (retailing at £895.00). My asking price is 450€ (hard case included) plus shipping from Granada.
A unique opportunity for those interested in getting introduced to the renaissance lute at a bargain price.
